What could you achieve this year, IF, you held yourself accountable?

Every year I attack each year with gusto. So much passion for the year ahead that you would think I was a walking advocate for life.  With my CHOOSE LIFE T-shirt and can-do attitude inspiring the masses with my free-spirited thinking and road map towards the ascension of wishes and dreams.

Every year, without fail, something always happens early on to throw me off course. My light dims and internally I’m shouting TURN OFF THE TORCH! TURN OFF THE TORCH! for fear that someone will hear me spouting my nonsensical crap and call me out on it.

2024 was a doozy of a year.  Probably already pre-marked by the Tarot Card of the Year – Strength. Cue the eye roll.

I don’t feel I need to open up my 2024 wounds for public consumption, but suffice to say, I climbed down into the bomb shelter and turned the torch off for several months. By the time I knew it, it was do or die, I was skidding on my knees towards a home run, desperate to get over the line, legs bleeding, head raging before the clock chimed Midnight on 31st December 2024.

Ready to wake up on the 1st January 2025.

A clean slate. A new chapter. Untouched. Perfect.

New batteries in the torch.

Pirouetting into a new year with gusto.

Again.

I understand (finally) why I fall hard every year, but do you?

This year I will challenge myself to cosy up to that nasty spiteful little word – accountability – and at the first sighting of a storm cloud, I will try hard and ride it out. I’m not going to make any further promises, but as the 2025 Tarot Card of the Year is The Hermit, then I guess this is pretty poetic, finding myself in a metaphorical field willing to meet my demons head on.

a.k.a. Blind Spots

We all have them.

But do you know yours?

Do you know their deeper hidden meanings?

What are you scared of?

Failure?

Or the one that always strikes fear …. Success.

Are you even curious about what lies in the shadows?

Instead of running to your version of the ‘bomb shelter’ this year, perhaps it’s time to stand in the field. Let the storm soak your bones and let the lightning destroy what was never yours to keep.

I challenge you, dear reader, to dig deep into the pockets of your mind and find that one innocent-looking, ordinary thought. The one that says …’nothing to see here, move along the bus’. The one that eludes you, the one that you push down deep into the recesses because you honestly don’t know what to do with it.

Do me a favour and drag it out by the neck and look at it in the cold light of day.

Because that’s your future.

That’s where your real accountability lies this year.

And if you need my help evoking the storm, you know where to find me.

The Journey of a logo

It took me a LONG time to finally settle on a logo design I was happy with. As many of you know (or don’t know), my background is in illustrative art, so for me, this was excruciating to get right.
